Providers & Models

Configure built-in providers, custom providers, API keys, and default models for Mory.

Providers & Models

The Providers section is where you decide which model backends Mory can use.

What Lives Here

This section currently includes:

  • Built-in providers
  • Custom providers
  • API keys
  • Base URLs
  • Enabled model lists
  • Default model selection

Built-in vs Custom Providers

MoryFlow separates providers into two groups:

Built-in Providers

These are providers MoryFlow already knows about.

Typical tasks here:

  • Turn a provider on or off
  • Paste the API key
  • Choose which models are enabled
  • Pick the default model for that provider

Custom Providers

These are for OpenAI-compatible endpoints or other provider setups you want to bring yourself.

Typical tasks here:

  • Add the provider name
  • Set the API endpoint
  • Add authentication
  • Register the models you want available

Default Model Strategy

You do not need to enable every model you have access to.

A better setup is:

  1. Pick one default model you trust for most work
  2. Enable a small number of alternates
  3. Add specialist models only when you have a real use case

Local Models

If you want local models, see the dedicated Ollama Local Models page.

Ollama is now better understood as one model-source option inside the broader providers-and-models setup, not as the entire settings story by itself.
